Efficient plant regeneration system for New Guinea Impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri W. Bull) CV. ‘Violet’ and ‘Scarlet Bronze Leaf’

New Guinea Impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri W. Bull) is an eye-popping landscaping plant of bright and colorful blooms. A highly efficient in vitro regeneration system via direct shoot organogenesis was established for the first time from hypocotyl with partial cotyledons Impatiens. Our results showed that explant sterilization method, basic medium type, AgNO3, sucrose growth regulators have significantly influenced morphogenesis. The rate media MS supplemented 0.5 mg·L−1TDZ 0.1 mg·L−1NAA acceptable, induction ‘Violet’ 86.67%, its proliferation coefficient 5.27, while 'Scarlet Bronze Leaf' 83.33%, 5.13. PIC could not induce clumped sprouts; however, it had a better effect on callus induction. We also included multiplication stage using 0.8 mg·L−16-BA, 0.05 mg·L−1NAA. Reducing concentration to 20 g·L−1 or adding 1 mg·L−1AgNO3 alleviate hyperhydricity phenomenon process tufted bud proliferation. optimal root culture regenerated seedlings 'scarlet bronze leaf' mg·L−1IBA, rooting reached 100%.The study examined micropropagation responses presence various regulators, which provide simple more suitable protocol adapted mass propagation clones. high-frequency hypocotyls some has been standardized CV.'Violet’and ‘Scarlet Leaf’.
